2010 Summer Forensic Workshop Forensic Science: Fundamentals and Investigations http://www.bertinoforensics.com
Whether you're beginning a forensics course or looking to integrate forensics into your math and science curriculum, you'll find this course extremely helpful. The course content can be expanded to challenge the needs of Advanced Placement students, accelerated or honors students, or it can be used to motivate, encourage and engage students who would otherwise shy away from math and science.
This four-day, hands-on workshop is held at Scotia-Glenville High School located near Albany, NY. Dates: June 28-July 1; July 6-9; or July 12-15. (Select one of the weeks). Presenters are Anthony (Bud) and Patricia Nolan Bertino, both veteran teachers with over 34 years of classroom experience and authors of the high school forensics textbook Forensic Science: Fundamentals and Investigations.
Cost of the workshop: $450
All participants receive a copy of the presenter's high school textbook along with labs, activities, case studies, objective sheets, interactive computer activities, websites and Power Point presentations. Topics and labs include: hair, fiber, pollen, glass, soil, blood spatter, tool marks, ballistics, handwriting forgery and drug analysis, forensic anthropology and entomology, and time of death.
Cost-saving tips, suggestions on how to best prepare your lessons and labs as well as ideas on how to address the needs of a heterogeneous forensic class will be emphasized.
